Dear Eaglebrook Families,
As I look out from the Lodge down to our Academic Center, I am imagining a school filled with your children.
We appreciate your patience and understanding while we worked out our plans for a safe return to on-campus life at Eaglebrook this September. To ensure the safety of your children and our entire community, we have explored and analyzed a wide variety of models for teaching and learning. Our plans include the directives from the
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and
the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Although cases have surged across the United States in recent weeks, here in Massachusetts, we are entering Phase 3 of the state’s four-phase reopening plan. Eaglebrook, located in rural Western Massachusetts, is in an area of the state that has the lowest numbers of confirmed COVID-19 cases. Our 750-acre campus provides a natural setting for outdoor activities on its fields, its miles of running and biking trails, and the nearby Deerfield River.
Our
Back to Eaglebrook plan for opening school covers all aspects of school life. You will have questions, and we know it’s impossible to remove every possibility for infection. Our plan is designed to lessen risks and provide active learning in classes, electives, and athletics for all of our students. Although the fall will present new procedures for students to follow, their understanding and willingness to commit in full will allow teachers, coaches, and advisors to provide for them the expected Eaglebrook education.
Stay safe during the summer days ahead. We encourage your children to join Summer Connections and Summer Welcome. These programs will help them understand the changes to our daily life at school this fall. On-campus, we continue to prepare for their return. Please reach out to me at any time as it is great to hear from so many of you.
