Varsity basketball vs. Phillips Exeter Academy Junior Varsity
Late Saturday afternoon the Eagles faced off with the Big Red JV team from Exeter. Eaglebrook started off the game quickly, and raced out to an early 8-point lead before the teams really settled into the flow of the game. Exter's size advantage helped them win the battle of the boards early, and their tendency to get out quickly on the break allowed them to cut into Eaglebrook's lead. During the closing minutes of the half Eaglebrook began to hit some of their outside shots, and were able to extend the lead to ten points going into halftime. Exter played well at the start of the second half, cutting Eaglebrook's lead down to six, 36-30, after hitting back-to-back threes with just over 8 minutes remaining in the game. After a quick timeout Eaglebrook took over the contest and went on a 31-8 point run, walking away with a 67-38 victory.
Next up for the Eagles will be a 5:00 game on Thursday at Pope Francis in Springfield.
