Varsity Basketball Hangs Tough against a Hard-Pressing Cardigan Offense

CANAAN, NH – February 10, 2024 – Varsity Basketball made the trek north to Canaan, NH, to face Cardigan on their home court. 

 

The Cougars came out aggressively and jumped to an early lead, but the Eagles were up to the challenge. They worked to control Cardigan’s court rushes, and they kept their opponent within six points in the early minutes. Costly turnovers, however, resulted in an 11-point Cougars lead by halftime.

 

In the second half, the Eagles once again worked hard to control the Cardigan press, and they trailed by only six with 12:14 to play. Cardigan then broke away, winning by 22 points.
