Thirds Basketball Comes up Short against Charlemont
DEERFIELD, Mass. – February 12, 2024 – Thirds Basketball fell to the Academy at Charlemont at home by three baskets, 41-35. With the tough loss, the Eagles dropped to 4-3 for the season.
The Brookies showed stellar defense in the first half, holding Charlemont to just five points and jumping out to a commanding 23-5 lead.
But costly turnovers on offense in the second half – coupled with a notable height differential between the teams that allowed Charlemont to respond with a slew of putbacks – chipped away at the Eagles’ lead and allowed their opponents to go on a 36-16 run during the second half.
Despite the tall order that Charlemont presented, the Thirds put up a great effort against a physically formidable opponent.
