Eagles Serve up a Satisfying Win against Deerfield JV Tennis, 6-1
DEERFIELD, Mass. – April 17, 2024 – With the snow and rain finally behind us, the Eagles played host to their talented neighbors down the Hill. Deerfield Academy's JV Boys team visited for a spirited competition that lasted nearly 3 hours - each hour filled with excellent competition and sportsmanship.
The match began with doubles competition. The first and second pairs were clear victories for Eaglebrook, while the third pairings battled deep into their set. Ultimately Eaglebrook earned the doubles point, and the match moved into singles competition.
Deerfield’s lineup was full of six strong athletes boasting well-balanced talent. This made for great matches across the board. The two baseliners at their respective ladder tops battled fiercely, but the rest of the pro-sets were equally well matched.
Deerfield managed to squeak out a victory of one match, with the Brookies taking the remainder. This led to a 6-1 victory for the day. Both teams will look forward to the rematch to close our season next month.
Now the team is laser focused on our archrival Cardigan Mountain School. Wish us luck as we journey northward Saturday!
