DEERFIELD, Mass. – February 17, 2024 – JV Hockey faced off against the Franklin County Hockey Association (FCHA) Bantam A team on Saturday, less than 24 hours after a tough loss the Western Mass Wizards broke their six-game winning streak.
The Eagles expected a tough contest with FCHA, having already faced them twice earlier in the season.
A slow start put Eaglebrook in a 1-0 hole by the end of the first period, and FCHA’s goalie turned away multiple shots on the next to start the game.
FCHA switched goalies in the second period, however, and the Eagles seized the opportunity, scoring on their first chance against the new netminder. A few minutes later, Eaglebrook buried another goal and began to control the momentum of the game going into the third period.
The final period was characterized by fast, physical play from both squads and the JV squad held strong to secure a 4-2 win.
