Eaglebrook Welcomes the Year of the Dragon

Eaglebrook marked its sixth annual celebration of the Lunar New Year on Sunday, February 11, with a feast at Gibbs Dining Hall.

The evening began with a special Sunday Meeting led by Mrs. Lapointe, who spoke about the meaning of the Lunar New Year and the lion dance that is a central feature of many New Year celebrations.

Gibbs was adorned with a warm array of red and gold decorations befitting the occasion, with traditional Chinese and Korean lanterns casting a warm glow over the event.

The dinner began with a selection of Chinese and Korean appetizers, followed by the arrival of the Imperial Lion Dance team from Worcester, Massachusetts, who announced themselves with thunderous drum beats. The main courses were then served as the entire school celebrated the arrival of the Year of the Dragon.
